Closer to My Dreams

If you’ve ever pursued a goal, then you understand the feeling of the finish line appearing to be so far away. It’s like, why even start. But I can honestly say that for the first time, I actually feel that I’m closer than I’ve ever been to my dreams. That doesn’t mean that I believe things will change today or even tomorrow, but that I now possess the confidence that I’m pursuing the right things for my life. Knowing your what and your why is half the battle. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve questioned my what and my way.

Today I walk with a new level of confidence because I’ve been let in the loop on my destination. If I could offer any advice to those still feeling confused about their path, I would say pray, trust, and walk. Sometimes the thing that we’re supposed to do doesn’t feel good doing all of the time but there’s clarity in consistency. In order to reach different levels, not only do your feet need to constantly be moving but your ‘me talk’ as well. The ‘me talk’ is what you say to yourself. When your legs hurt and your feet get tired, your initial thoughts may try to discourage upward progression. In those moments, you have to talk to yourself a little and remind yourself that it’s all apart of the process. There’s some casting down of negative thoughts and replacing them with positive affirmations. I’m going to make it. It’ll be worth it in the end. I’m not alone in this process of greatness. Others have overcome the same hurdles. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13).

When you’re ready to get closer your dreams, pray, trust, and walk.
